Skillz Video with Production by JOE MONEY AKA USEF DINERO

New Skillz video feat Kweli, the video is broken up into 2 parts...2 different songs altogether. The second song was produced by Kwame, the first by Usef Dinero aka Joe Money. I have known Joe for years, an he is one the best Producers here in Pittsburgh, and in my opinion one of the best period. We have been working on a film project for awhile, (for one of his music projects)...and as soon as I have a update..I will post it here. ***NOTE I DID NOT DO THIS VIDEO NOR HAD ANYTHING TO DO WITH THIS VIDEO** I am posting it becuase, my homeboy Joe, produced the track (for the first part of the video)..and we got something in the works.

ANOTHER BEAT MAKING APPLICATION FOR THE iPHONE

Here is the latest software for the iPhone called the
'beatmaker". Click here for more details. There isn't any video of this device in use, so we will have to wait and see if it deliveres.

Yesterday's Shoot

Was out with T-note, and my son ( my son was filling in as a grip) working on a brief project for a client. We were in Oakland, by CMU, and in the middle of the shoot, we saw someone walk out of the woods. Nothing to suprising by that, but when I decided to investigate it a little further, found out there were several mattresses and various clothing items under the bridge. It looked as if it was a community for homeless young people. I was tempted to go down there and film, but didn't want to disrespect their private space. All in all the shoot went well yesterday, used the DVX 100 yesterday (courtesy of Paul Dang). Now we move on to the editing process.

THE LIST THAT ALMOST WAS

I was in the process of compiling a list to link to all to all of the producers and dj's that I respect in the Pittsburgh area, it was going to be a database of sort. It was taking up too much time, and too much space. So....now, it doesn't exist. The reason why I wanted to do that was becuase there is so much talent here in Pittsburgh, but I suppose people will just have to wait on the movie or seek the info on their own. Or maybe I will just have to try a different approach

ONLINE RADIO

Very soon, I will be adding a few online spots on my blog. Taking my time to do it right.

2 non-traditional dj and production aplications

First up we have the Traxxpad (which I own)...I actually have used this a lot and had the psp sitting next to my turntables. The only problem is that my son decided to leave my psp sitting on a counter at the mall...but thats another story all together. The traxxpad took some time to get used, but once I got a feel for it I used it all the time. My only issue with the Traxxpad is the work around you have to perform to get samples into the application, and there are no effects. If they could come up with a way to do that, via a psp update then it would get a 10 out of ten rating.
Next up we have the MixMeister Scratch, I don't own a iphone/Ipod touch as of yet, but as soon as I get one (July 11th) I will give my review. Of course I know it isn't going to be essential to have with your traditional setup. But I can't lie, I am a sucker for technology such as this. Click on either picture to navigate to their respective websites.

One of the projects I am working on right now is "possibly" a audio book for Dr. Anthony Mcbride. He has been working on a few children books, one of them is entitled "Shaheana." Trust me this isn't your average children's book, it has some deep subject matter. For more info check out his website www.anthonymcbride.com. His website was created by Highimpact designs and the music was produced by me (of course).

UP TO SPEED (YOUTUBE EDITION)

By now most people should know how we at 33 1/3 media feel about the quality of youtube videos, but in this day an age it is a necessary evil. I am going to compile all of the video work that has been done by us (so far) that has been posted on youtube...in this post. There are several other projects that were finished that will not be posted now, because I refuse to use youtube for anything new at this point. I will use youtube to showcase other people's video, products ect.. but not any more of mine at this point. So, here it is...enjoy.

One of those weeks

When I first decided to do this blog, my main focus was to make sure that it stayed business oriented and not personal. Sometimes things happen beyond our control, and we are forced to reevaluate our decisions. Within a week or so time, I lost 2 people that are very dear to my heart. First my good friend Jason Gunn passed away. Jason was the illest artist (by far) in our squad ever since we were in Jr. high. This cat could do anything with a pencil and he was so proficient in almost every aspect of art. I have so many good memories with this man, that a post in a blog can't do him justice so I won't even attempt to do that. On Sunday (while at work) I got the news that my cousin; Isaac Peterson passed away. Isaac was one of the most sincere people I have ever met, one of the few whose heart was always in the right place. Just like Jason, a post in a blog won't do him justice as well, it's just hard to let these two people go.

IN THE LAB

This past weekend I finally had the pleasure of laying down 2 tracks (preproduction) for a very talented (up and coming) vocalist by the name of "Hank Dolo". I had started to worked with Hank about 2 years ago, and it didn't work out as we planned. Now we have decided to get back in, break bread and make it work. This is a music project I am very excited about. I will be doing all of the production, besides for maybe 2 or 3 joints. I will post some pics in a few as well as a audio snippet or 2 in the near future. I will do all pre-production at the crib, then will more than likely take it to Quiv at "Ya moms house" studio's to make sure it is extra crispy.

LIGHTS, CAMERA, ACTION

I was assisting in a project for Pittsburgh public schools a few weeks ago, and I had the pleasure of filming with this camera. I want to state that I have worked with several camera's and for some reason I was just blown away with this piece of equipment. I had told Kareem about this camera a year or so ago and he slept on it....next thing you know he owns one. I am about to add one of these to my arsenal as well. I will soon upload or at least give links to several projects. Still debating on what path to take as far as video hosting, don't want to do link to youtube, due to the sub-par quality. Click here for the link to the official Canon XHA1 page.

The first of many

Don't have much to say to start this off, but this isn't my first attempt to create a blog, but I will say that this time, the focus is there. There are a lot of projects that we have on the way, and now is the perfect time, and this is the perfect place to present them.
